Game 1

A student throws the 4 dice of the Collection “Manners” so that a manner, an adjective, an action and an emotion come up.

Then the student will have to tell a brief story or situation in which these words are used.

Examples:

  • ‘NICE TO MEET YOU’ Susy says to everybody she has never seen before.
  • Always Susy tries to be KIND
  • Susy is a kind person but sometimes she can HURT you very easily.
  • I think she is very ANGRY since her friend died.

Game 2

Following with the same procedure as in Game 1 but, in this case, with the participation of all students in the class.

In a circle, once the first student has finished with his/her part of the story, the second student throws the dice and continues with a new scene of the same story. By adding a new episode, the student will have to connect his/her ideas with the ones told by the previous student.

Examples:

1st student

  • ‘NICE TO MEET YOU’ Susy says to everybody she has never seen before.
  • Always Susy tries to be KIND
  • Susy is a kind person but sometimes she can HURT you very easily.
  • I think she is very ANGRY since her friend died.

2 nd student

  • EXCUSE ME, do you know the name of her friend?
  • I realized she  was  very  SENSITIVE  but  I  had  no  idea  about  her  friend.
  • I RECOGNIZE  I didn’t talk to her on the past couple days.
  • However, I’m SURPRISED  nobody have told me.

Contents, verb tenses, structures and levels will be set by the teacher.

This way, all students will be able to create stories and /or refer to real circumstances that could be shared by everybody in the class.

*Other ideas: the teacher asks questions such as “Have you ever felt / Do you ever feel this way? Would you like to share what happened? Can we make suggestions to deal with situations like these?
